Madam Frederiek is crochet with cotton. The colors I used are from
Boekenvoordeel, but you can off course crochet with the colors you like
Skin color elephant: Grundl Cotton Quick uni gray 128, 3 balls
Shoes and ribbon pouch bag: Grundl Cotton Quick uni pink 133, 25gr
Dress and hat: Grundl Cotton Quick print mix 198, 1 ball
Edges dress: leftover green, yellow, blue and red /pink
Pouch bag: scheepjes catona crème 130, 15gr
Safety eyes 12mm, stuffing, crochet hook 2.25mm or 2.5mm, long needle,
some pink eye shadow or blush for the cheeks and ears, some black
embroidery yarn for the eyebrows, invisible sewing yarn.

I made Madam Frederiek with hook 2.25; she becomes about 33cm then. She
is completely crocheted in 1 piece
You can adjust the thickness of your crochet hook if you want to make here
larger or smaller.

Finishing of the face
Place the eyes, between round 74-75, with ca. 10sc between both eyes. Insert
a long threaded needle from the neck to the place for the eyes, stitch 2 sts
next to it back to the neck. Tighten the thread and make some knots in it.
Repeat for the other eye. This way the eyes lay deeper and have more
expression!! Put a drop of glue on the eyes and push them in the eye sockets.
Hide the yarn ends in the neck.
Pin the trunk, 3 rounds under the eyes in the middle and sew it neatly to the
face. Embroider 2 eyebrows and put some blush on the cheeks.

Crochet with pink a picot-edge, followed by 30 chains for the shoulder strap.
Fasten at the opposite to each other.
Picot = ch3, hdc in the 3rd ch from the hook, slst in the next st, sc in the next
st, ch3, hdc in the 3rd ch from the hook, slst in the next st, sc in the next st…
repeat around.
Make a cord: chain 75, hide the yarn ends and weave it through round 15.
Stuff the pouch a little, tighten the cord and make a nice bow in it. Sew the
pouch with invisible yarn to the arm.
